Windows XP SP3 - Ultimate Solution For The Endless Reboot Problem

If you was one of the user that have accidentally installed the Windows XP SP3 system, and having this continuously reboot, you have come to the right place!

Mostly that encountered this reboot problem is the AMD-based computer with OEM images and primarily HP desktop. For those that haven't install the Windows XP SP3 system, you need to double check you computer base is AMD type or not (Most of the HP computer with a serial of part number that ended up with a 'z' is classified as an AMD-based computer).

For those that already installed, don't be panics. How can you identify the problem? Easy, if you see a stop error code of 0x0000007e, then you discovered the main problem.

Here is the step to get rid off the error code of 0x0000007e:

1. Hit the F8 key at the restart stage, right when you see the black Windows XP screen come up.

2. Next, select the "Disable automatic restart on system failure" option.

There are three kinds of options, whether:

• When you chose to boot into the recovery console option, from a command prompt, run the "disable intelppm".

• When you chose to boot into safe mode option, then you can run the "sc config intelppm start= disabled" function.

• When you chose to boot into WinPE option, you need to edit the registry manually.
This is the step for editing the WinPE manually:

1. Firstly, run the regedit.

2. After it, try to click on "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE".

3. Then, search the File menu, and select "Load hive".

4. Is time to navigate to the "%systemdriver%WindowsSystem32Config" on the dead system, don't even forget to select the file name System.

5. Now, you can name it something you can easily remember, such as "horked".

6. OK, you need to navigate to "horkedServicesIntelPPM".

7. Please double click the "Start value" and set it to '4' as well.

8. If you had did what I did and completely destroyed things by running a disk check, then you got to navigate to "ControlSessionManager".

9. You have to open the BootExecute value, and manually clear out the autochk entries.

10. Finally, reboot the system.

I think you can now reboot your computer. Everything will just be fined.

Windows XP SP3 Error for Prerequiasite failure

Before going to explore a bit on to the history of the error code's.. why not get along with some of the current blue screen profile error's for windows xp sp3 was there on my mind today.. and here is one of the common error code's users are experiencing while going for a SP3 update...

error while installing Windows XP SP 3: 8007F0F4 – STATUS_PREREQUISITE_FAILED.

There are no less than six errors for failed Windows XP SP3 installations which produce the with the "8007F0F4 – STATUS_PREREQUISITE_FAILED" log. The six errors have just as many causes, starting with the installation process failing to continue on computers running on battery power. In this case, Microsoft explained that in order to prevent and "update failure because of battery power exhaustion during the installation process," it generated the following error: "this Service Pack requires the machine to be on AC Power before setup starts."

"Service Pack 3 Setup has been canceled because Microsoft Shared Computer Toolkit for Windows XP is not compatible with this version of Windows. Before you can continue, you must: 1) Uninstall Microsoft Shared Computer Toolkit 2) (Optional) Install Windows SteadyState, the newer version of Microsoft Shared Computer Toolkit. For more detailed information, go to the Shared Access page on the Microsoft Web site," is the second of the 8007F0F4 – STATUS_PREREQUISITE_FAILED series of errors, and the message is self explanatory.

As it released the gold bits of XP SP3, Microsoft informed of an incompatibility between the MUI pack for XP SP2 and SP3. The issue affects specifically the Multilingual User Interface Pack (MUI) for the Remote Desktop Connection 6.0 (Terminal Services Client 6.0). "Service Pack 3 Setup has been canceled because Windows XP SP3 cannot be installed over RDP 6.0 MUI PACK (Update for Windows XP (KB925877)). Before you can continue, you must Uninstall KB925877" is the error message presented to users.

You also have to keep in mind that Service pack 3 is designed to integrate only with the 32-bit editions of Windows XP, and nothing more. Attempting to deploy SP3 on top of Windows Fundamentals for Legacy PCs (WinFLP) will result in the following error message: "Microsoft Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3 cannot be applied to Windows Fundamentals for Legacy PCs (WinFLP). A unique SP3 update package for WinFLP will be made available at [the Download Center]."

According to the Redmond company: "setup cannot continue because one or more prerequisites required to install Service Pack 3 failed. For More details check the Log File Drive_Letter:windowssvcpack.log" is an error message produced by the installation of Service Pack 3 on top of Windows XP Media Center Edition or over Windows XP Media Center Edition 2003.

A "Stop 0xA0" Error Message in Windows XP

When you try to hibernate a Windows XP-based computer, you may receive a "Stop 0xA0" error message on a blue screen.

The reason being is if an integrated device electronics (IDE) time-out occurs during the hibernation process, the Atapi driver does not wait long enough for the primary IDE drive to come online.

If your computer has an ATA Packet Interface (ATAPI) hard disk that is larger than 137 gigabytes (GB), you may experience any of the following symptoms:

Your computer may restart instead of resuming from hibernation.

You may experience hard disk corruption when your computer enters either standby or hibernation.

You may experience hard disk corruption when Windows XP writes a memory dump file as a result of an unrecoverable Windows error (or Stop error)

Note If you experience hard disk corruption, you may also experience other symptoms including problems starting, restarting, or shutting down Windows XP, problems running programs, or problems opening or saving documents.

Possible Resolution

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows XP.
